Dear Mathilda
Susanna Tamaro
Two women living in different continents discover they have more in common than they thought.
For a year, Susanna Tamaro writes weekly to Mathilda, a friend who has returned to Africa to raise her daughter. These letters recount daily life in the countryside and discuss friendship, responsibility, violence, war, and hope. The result is an epistolary novel that reflects on the pain and joy of two women whose lives are united by hope and joy.
