Fausta Cialente Estate

Fausta Cialente (1898 – 1994) was born in Sardinia but spent much of her adult life in Alexandria Egypt, which provided the backdrop for many of her books. A vocal anti-fascist, she returned to Italy after WW2 and saw out the end of her long life in England. The author won the Strega Prize in 1974.
