Nine d’Urso is an actress and illustrator. Unfinished Business was born from a single, disarming question she asked friends, family, and strangers alike: “What in your life began and ended without ever reaching its conclusion?”

The answers, intimate, fleeting, unresolved, form a constellation of fragments. Each response inspired a drawing, originally presented as part of a collective exhibition in Paris: 240 small sketches, each sealed inside a tiny vial of oil, aligned on shelves like preserved memories.

The title refers to the dark fracture line visible on an X-ray when a bone breaks, a “solution of continuity.” In that gap, Solution de Continuité imagines the possibility of repair: the space where something new can grow, where absence becomes potential. At once visual art, literary meditation, and emotional archive, this book invites readers to contemplate unfinished stories, not as failures, but as openings for transformation.
